CERTINATOR GUIDE
Generate certificate PDFs through the API
Prepare a scoped key, use the documented certificate API, and understand credit and batch limits.
Before you start
A plan with API access, an API key with the required scope, and a secure server-side environment.
Steps
- Open Developers for the current endpoint schemas and copyable request examples. Keep the API key on your server.
- Choose a supported template and prepare the documented recipient, achievement, issuer, and date payload.
- Use a direct generation request for up to 10 PDFs, or a background job for up to 100. Check plan rate and concurrency limits first.
- Inspect the response or poll the job status as documented, then retrieve the generated PDF result.
- Use separate, explicitly authorized issuance calls if public verification is needed. Do not assume generation alone publishes a record.
What to keep in mind
One certificate uses one API credit. Background jobs reserve credits on acceptance; direct generation counts when rendering starts. Failed work after reservation may consume credits. MCP uses the same underlying plan constraints.
