CERTINATOR GUIDE

Understand certificate verification and recipient privacy

Understand public verification fields, issuer-submitted records, expiry, revocation, and archive behavior.

Before you start

An account and a plan with public verification for publishing records. Reading an existing public link does not require an account.

Steps

  1. Enable verification deliberately in the credential setup and review which supported fields will be public.
  2. Confirm that the information is appropriate for a public link. Anyone with the URL may view enabled fields; recipient email is not a public field.
  3. Review before issuing. A record confirms what the issuer submitted and displays its status; it does not establish identity or accreditation.
  4. Use Verification Records to edit supported public fields and inspect expiry. A past expiry date shows Expired.
  5. Revoke only when intended: real revocation is permanent. Archiving removes an entry from the active library but does not revoke the public record.

What to keep in mind

A successful PDF download is separate from public registration. If a render fails after a record is registered, inspect Verification Records before trying again.
